【主講人簡介】
安德魯·謝弗(Andrew Schaefer)教授現(xiàn)在是萊斯大學(xué)(Rice University)計算和應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)系教授,。在2015年加入萊斯大學(xué)之前,他在匹茲堡大學(xué)工業(yè)工程系擔(dān)任教授,獲得過工業(yè)和系統(tǒng)工程協(xié)會(IISE)杰出青年工業(yè)工程教育獎和美國國家科學(xué)基金會(NSF)終身成就獎,,研究方向是廣泛的運(yùn)籌學(xué)和工業(yè)工程,,包括混合整數(shù)規(guī)劃,,隨機(jī)規(guī)劃和大規(guī)模優(yōu)化,。他目前是Operations Research、Management Science,、IISE Transactions等運(yùn)營管理領(lǐng)域頂級期刊的副主編,,INFORMS Journal on Computing和Production and Operations Management的資深編輯。同時他還是美國器官移植咨詢委員會的成員,。
"Professor Andrew Schaefer is Noah Harding Chair and Professor of Computational and Applied Mathematics at Rice University. Prior to joining Rice in 2015, he was John A. Swanson Chair in Engineering and William Kepler Whiteford Professor of Industrial Engineering at University of Pittsburgh. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Industrial Engineering Education Award from the IISE society and the NSF CAREER Award. His research interests are in the broad area of operations research and industrial engineering, which includes mixed-integer programming, stochastic optimization and large-scale optimization. He is currently the associate editor of Operations Research, Management Science, IISE Transactions, INFORMS Journal on Computing and senior editor of Production and Operations Management. He is also a member of United States Advisory Committee on Organ Transplantation"

"In this talk, I will discuss the history and impact of Operations Research on healthcare industry, including hospital operations, treatment models and healthcare policy. I will present the state of the art and discuss what makes healthcare OR different from traditional OR. Finally, I will talk about future directions."
